There are several professions that may come in handy for ESO account users and on the previous article, which you may read here, we began to discuss one of the most beneficial: Enchanting. Enchanting weapons and equipment can imbue them with unique capabilities and powers. On the first article we discussed Runes, magical stones that, when combined, create Glyphs. Glyphs add special attributes and capabilities to weapons, armor and jewelry. They are crafter by combining three different runestones. Read our first article to find out more about runestones. There are a total of three types of Glyphs: Weapon Glyphs, Armor Glyphs, and Jewelry Glyphs. Each Glyph provides different attributes. To create Glyphs, a player needs to craft them at an Enchanting Table.

How to Use Glyphs for ESO Account Users

Using Glyphs is a very simple process. You must either open inventory or your current gear. Select an item you want to Enchant and right click to open a drop down menu option. If the item can be enchanted, it will have the ‘enchant’ option. Click on “Enchant” and another window will pop up displaying the available Glyphs you may apply to the item in your inventory. It is important to note that there are three different types of Glyphs for particular kinds of items (Armor, Weapon and Jewelry) so only the right types of Glyphs will show up in this menu.

Click on the desired Glyph to be applied. Press the ‘E’ button and you will see a preview of your item’s stats with the applied Glyph enhancements. Once the Enchanting is completed, the Glyph will disappear from your inventory and will appear on the item.

Extracting Glyphs for ESO Account Users

Apply Glyphs to your items are not permanent; you may extract them if you wish to change attributes. Extracting is also a great way to level up your Enchanting profession!

Extracting is the is the process of breaking down the glyph and acquiring the raw materials: runestones. Consequently, once a glyph is extracted it will be destroyed. Glyphs may only be extracted at an enchanting station. Additionally, runes are not the only thing to be acquired when Glyph extracting but you will get inspiration points for enchanting, also known as crafting experience, as well.

Protip: You may be able to increase the chance of getting runestones from extraction with the enchanting skill line passive, Aspect Extraction.
