Having a house has always been part of the experience in any Elder Scrolls game. A humble abode that you can decorate, rest in, craft items, and do some off-screen romancing – the franchise wouldn’t be the same without it. And because this particular feature has become a staple in the franchise, it’s only right that it makes its way to Elder Scrolls Online. And it will. Finally, ESO account owners can finally have some shelter.

The Elder Scrolls Online update that is aptly called as Homestead, which will give players the opportunity to buy a home, is estimated to be released on February 17 next year. In these homes, players will then be able to do a variety, but the most important one among them would be the crafting of over 2000 items. These houses are instance-based, so players don’t have to worry about running out of houses to purchase.

“Unfurnished homes will be available for purchase with either in-game Gold or with Crowns in the Crown Store”, Bethesda said in an interview. “Fully furnished homes will be available for purchase through the Crown Store with Crowns. Players will be allowed to preview homes prior to purchase, whether furnished and unfurnished” they also added. So if you are short on gold but want a home, and if you want to have all the things you need in ahome without breaking a sweat, then you can always your money to do the heavy lifting.

ESO Account: Race-Based Housing?

But should you choose to do the furnishing yourself, then you can always craft your own furniture, or buy it from other players. At the same time, you can also sell it to other ESO account holders.

And from what was on the trailer, the design and size of the homes depends on the race of the character doing the purchase, not on the ESO account. So hopefully you like the aesthetics of the house assigned to your character’s race…unless you want to reroll to another class simply because you want a different looks and living space for the house.

Maybe you’ve been playing ESO for quite some time now, so it’s starting to feel like home. If so, then that’s good. And if you want to make it feel even more like home, now you can – for the right price.
