Some dire news for Elder Scrolls Online account holders who frequent instanced dungeons. The recent Patch 1.1.2 for Elder Scrolls Online has changed how dungeon chests work. While you can still loot ESO gold and Elder Scrolls Online items from them, ESO account holders will now find fewer chests.

Patch 1.1.2 Changes to Getting ESO Gold from Dungeon Chests

Shared chests for more ESO gold

The new patch will now make dungeon chests shared. When opened, characters within 50 meters of the container will receive individual rolls for the chest’s contents. Elder Scrolls Online weapons, Elder Scrolls Online armor and ESO gold will be rolled for nearby characters as if they opened a chest themselves.

Fewer chests for ESO gold hunters to loot

There will now be only two chests in a dungeon instance. This is done to offset how chests are now shared. Finding these ESO gold containers will a little bit more difficult as their location in the dungeon will be randomly picked.
